-
Industry research shows that 76% of employees at UK companies have helped plan or support an event, which is often outside their core job functions.
-
Travel and accommodation are cited as one of the biggest challenges in event planning, with 68% of companies asking for help in those areas.
These statistics underscore the need for tools like Perk Events as systems that reduce manual “shadow work” and streamline planning at scale.

Hong Kong opens landmark public spaces for MICE events
Hong Kong opens landmark public spaces for MICE events
Hong Kong hosts over 80,000 events each year – but a such a small city, event spaces come at a premium. As a solution to this, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) has announced in November 2025 that eight designated public-use spaces and landmarks will be made available for private and commercial events. This exciting announcement allows for more venue range for MICE events in Hong Kong.
What public spaces does this include?
- Hong Kong Cultural Centre
- Hong Kong Museum of Art
- Chater Garden
- Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park
- Kai Tak Station Square
- Kwun Tong Promenade
- Sha Tin Park
- Oil Street Art Space
This LCSD decision gives MICE events more options on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and in the New Territories. These spaces are ideal for creative corporate functions that not a lot of businesses would have had access to in the past.

1. Marrakech
The Red City of Magic & Mystery
Marrakech is a destination like no other, where centuries-old traditions meet modern sophistication. Known as the “Red City” for its terracotta-hued walls, Marrakech offers a sensory journey through vibrant souks, ornate palaces, fragrant spice markets, and peaceful gardens tucked within the bustling medina. Groups can explore architectural gems like the Bahia Palace or admire the artistry of the Majorelle Garden, restored by Yves Saint Laurent.
Adventures await in the city and beyond. Take a guided food tour through Jemaa el- Fnaa square, sampling local delicacies as snake charmers and storytellers fill the air with magic. Venture into the Atlas Mountains for hiking and Berber village visits, or head to the Agafay Desert for a sunset camel ride and gourmet dinner under the stars. For a true wow moment, soar above the outskirts of the city on a sunrise hot air balloon ride with sweeping views of the mountains.
Luxury accommodations in Marrakech set the bar high. The Royal Mansour, commissioned by King Mohammed VI, is a masterpiece of Moroccan design with private riads and impeccable service. La Mamounia, a legend among luxury hotels, blends Moroccan tradition with Art Deco style and has long attracted royalty and celebrities. Sofitel Marrakech Palais Imperial offers a grand blend of French elegance and Moroccan charm, with lush gardens, opulent interiors, and spaces ideal for groups and events. And last, but certainly not least, at Four Seasons Resort Marrakech you can find picturesque gardens and a resort-style setting just outside the city walls, perfect for groups looking to balance relaxation with exploration.
Marrakech is a destination that delivers culture, adventure, and luxury, truly leaving trips attendees enchanted.

2. Rio de Janeiro
Where Energy Meets Elegance
Rio de Janeiro is a full sensory adventure where golden beaches meet dramatic granite peaks, samba spills into the streets, and sunrises and sunsets light up the sky over the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue. This “Cidade Maravilhosa,” or Marvelous City, offers attendees a perfect blend of natural beauty, rich culture, and vibrant energy, in the trifecta of beach, city and mountains.
Copacabana and Ipanema beaches are legendary for good reason, lined with cafés, bars, and stunning views of Sugarloaf Mountain. But maybe your guests prefer a ride up Corcovado mountain to experience the larger-than-life Christ the Redeemer statue, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, or they can take a cable car ride to the top of Sugarloaf for panoramic city and ocean views. Groups looking for authenticity can explore the historic Santa Teresa neighborhood with its colonial architecture and lively art scene or discover samba clubs where the rhythm of Rio comes alive.
For incentive travel programs, Rio boasts exceptional properties combining luxury with a sense of place. The Copacabana Palace, a Belmond Hotel, is the crown jewel, an Art Deco landmark that has hosted royalty, Hollywood stars, and heads of state. Other high-end options include the Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro, set on the quieter Barra da Tijuca Beach, and the Fairmont Rio, a 375 room tribute to the 1950’s Copacabana. For experiences, Rio offers private dining in the Botanical Garden, sunset yacht cruises around Guanabara Bay, or a behind-the-scenes samba school experience – all of which can elevate any itinerary with unforgettable moments.
Whether it’s relaxing on pristine beaches, experiencing Carnival-inspired energy year-round, or hosting a gala dinner under the stars with Sugarloaf Mountain as the backdrop, Rio de Janeiro delivers the “wow” factor at every turn.

3. Japan
Tokyo Energy, Kyoto Serenity
Japan blends ancient tradition with futuristic energy, making it a must-see destination for 2026 incentive travel. Japan stands out for its safety, exceptional service, cleanliness, and seamless transportation. This makes pairing two cities, like Tokyo and Kyoto a breeze, giving attendees the best of both worlds – Tokyo’s fast-paced, metropolitan buzz balanced by Kyoto’s serene temples and timeless traditions.
In Tokyo, groups can dive into authentic cultural experiences like sushi-making, sake tasting, and cheering for their favorite contender at a Grand Sumo Tournament. After experiencing daytime delights int Tokyo, groups can then shift into luxury with an evening Tempura Cruise on a classic Yakatabune river boat, enjoy world-class shopping in Ginza, and experience authentic karaoke in one of the many karaoke rooms.
Just a train ride away, Kyoto offers a striking contrast. Guests can find balance through Zen meditation, take part in traditional tea ceremonies, and walk through the iconic Fushimi Inari Shrine’s orange torii gates.
With a wave of new luxury hotels, Japan has elevated the incentive experience. Four Seasons Tokyo at Otemachi offers views of Mt. Fuji and Michelin-starred dining, while the Hotel Indigo Tokyo Shibuya immerses visitors in the city’s music and fashion scene. Additionally, the Conrad Toyko offers some of the best views of the city’s striking skyline. In Kyoto, ROKU KYOTO and the Ritz-Carlton deliver serene, nature-inspired retreats.
With its rich cultural depth, emerging luxury scene, and unforgettable experiences, Japan promises to elevate any incentive trip and leave the guests talking about this destination for years to come!
Pro tip: Visit in spring for cherry blossoms or fall for stunning foliage – two unforgettable backdrops for an incentive trip!

4. Virgin Gorda
Where Reward Meets Relaxation
Virgin Gorda is the ultimate island retreat in the British Virgin Islands that doesn’t just impress, it inspires. The most iconic attraction on the island, The Baths, offers an awe-inspiring maze of granite boulders, grottos, and hidden pools unlike any other attraction in the Caribbean. For a once-in-a-lifetime upgrade, groups can incorporate exclusive access to nearby Necker Island, Sir Richard Branson’s private paradise, for a day of unparalleled luxury, water sports, and wildlife encounters. Other island activities include snorkeling vibrant reefs, hiking to panoramic views at Gorda Peak, or unwinding with a private beach barbecue infused with local flavors and music.
Resorts like Rosewood Little Dix Bay and Oil Nut Bay combine world-class service with the island’s relaxed, refined spirit. Rosewood is an ideal property for larger groups, combining accessibility, versatility, and white-glove service, while Oil Nut Bay offers a secluded, high-touch experience ideal for smaller, intimate groups.
Easily paired with nearby islands, Virgin Gorda offers endless variety. Attendees can sail to Jost Van Dyke for cocktails on White Bay, enjoy a beach drop with picnic on a private beach, or dock at Saba Rock for sunset dining. Virgin Gorda is a destination where reward, relaxation, and adventure come together seamlessly.

5. Yachting
Preserved Old-World Culture
Luxury yachting takes the best of land-based high-end incentives and sets them to sea. It offers a unique way to experience the world – where the journey itself is every bit as exciting as the destinations. Unlike traditional cruising, luxury yachting combines the intimacy of a private yacht with the world-class amenities of a five-star resort: well-appointed suites, Michelin-level dining, wellness sanctuaries, and unbridled access to exclusive ports. Every voyage feels personal, with nearly one-to-one staff-to-guest service ensuring that no detail goes unnoticed. Whether it’s savoring cocktails at sunset on a private terrace, diving straight into crystal blue waters from a marina deck, or exploring iconic coastlines in style, yachting delivers freedom, exclusivity, and indulgence that few other travel experiences can match.
Four Seasons is charting new waters in ultra-luxury yachting, with its inaugural flagship launching in late 2025 and first voyages sailing in 2026. Onboard, guests will find 95 spacious suites, including the spectacular Funnel Suite – a four-level, 10,000-square-foot showpiece unlike anything else at sea. Amenities range from a full-service spa and salon to a pool deck that transforms into an event venue, plus 11 distinct restaurant and bar concepts designed to impress even the most seasoned travelers. With a 1:1 staff-to-guest ratio, the Four Seasons service standard you know on land now glides effortlessly across the water. Itineraries include hidden gems in the Mediterranean like the Dalmatian Coast, Italian Riviera, and the Greek Isles, as well as exclusive Caribbean islands that many travelers never reach, making every sailing feel like a rare discovery.
The Ritz-Carlton has already made waves with its fleet of three superyachts: Evrima (298 guests), the inaugural yacht launched in 2022; Ilma (448 guests), introduced in 2024; and Luminara (452 guests), set to debut in late 2025. Each yacht blends residential-style elegance with expansive private terraces, elevated dining, and nearly one-to-one guest-to-staff service. Guests aboard Ilma are treated to not only world-class cuisine and wellness experiences but also curated private art collections that add an extra layer of sophistication to the journey. Whether sailing the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, or beyond, Ritz-Carlton’s yachts deliver a refined, boutique-style escape with the comfort and prestige of a brand that has defined luxury travel for decades.
The Orient Express Corinthian, debuting in 2026, is set to become the world’s largest sailing yacht at 220 meters in length. With just 54 luxury suites accommodating 110 guests, the yacht offers an intimate experience paired with grandeur. Guests will enjoy Michelin-starred cuisine by Yannick Alléno, an elegant spa, water sports from the marina, and even a recording studio onboard. Its revolutionary carbon-fiber sail design blends cutting-edge technology with timeless artistry, while itineraries emphasize slow sailing, hidden anchorages, and immersive cultural encounters – from private beach dinners to curated explorations. The Orient Express Corinthian redefines seafaring luxury, marrying the golden age of travel with modern innovation
Atlas Ocean Voyages offers boutique-scale luxury at sea, perfect for incentive groups and charters that want exclusivity and adventure in one. With yachts accommodating up to 190 guests, programs can be fully customized, from curated itineraries and themed events to private shore excursions. Ships like World Navigator and World Traveller feature refined suites, world-class dining, and elegant venues such as The Dome lounge and Water’s Edge deck. Blending five-star comfort with immersive exploration, Atlas Ocean Voyages turns the journey itself into a shared, unforgettable reward. Each voyage delivers the exclusivity and personalization of a private charter – at a value that makes true luxury accessible to smaller groups and tighter budgets.
6. Québec City
European Charm Without Jetlag
Best known as the most authentic European-style destination west of the Atlantic Ocean, Quebec City offers all the same quintessential charm without the jetlag. With the highly acclaimed Fairmont Hotel Chateau Frontenac as its anchor, this 400-year-old walled city offers extraordinary experiences all around. From its gastronomy to museums and venues, think unique and memorable. For venue starters, check out the 19th-century Parliament Building, which is home to the National Assembly and magnificent gardens. Perfect for your gala reception and awards dinner with local entertainment in the hallowed halls.
Our favorite time of year: Quebec Winter Carnival is one of the world’s largest and a perfect time (February/March) to show your winners why thousands flock to Quebec City to enjoy a host of activities including sledding, ice wall climbing, Nordic Spa, ice sculptures, night parades, ice canoe races (wait, what?), musical performances and Bonhomme’s famous Ice Palace. Put Quebec on your list and surprise your winners with an authentic European-like experience just north of the border! For an extraordinary group experience just outside the city introduce your guests to a Sugar Shack!
Tip: Extend off-the-beaten path eastward 93 miles to the famous Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu. An exquisite journey back in time to a place where elite travel surely started. Built in 1899 on the St. Lawrence River—that was the only way to arrive, so the hotel front is facing the water. A unique, serene, and beautiful setting on manicured grounds (and a stellar golf course and spa) makes it a can’t-miss!

7. Montana
The Sky is the Limit
Montana, affectionately referred to as ‘Big Sky Country’, offers an ideal setting for rest and relaxation, combined with refreshing mountain air and a vast playground for outdoor adventures. Some of the activities you will be able to enjoy include guided excursions through Yellowstone or Glacier national parks, fly-fishing, mountain biking, rafting, horseback riding, winter skiing, and even inviting opportunities to engage in ranching. The choices for thrilling adventures in Montana are endless!
Meanwhile, clients can choose from several remarkable accommodations. Located in Western Montana is The Green O, part of The Resort at Paws Up. This luxurious “glamping” destination, situated on 37,000 acres of pristine wilderness, promises a one-of-a-kind Montana experience. Further south, you’ll discover Montage Big Sky, a modern property nestled in the heart of the Spanish Peaks Mountain Range, offering a serene and upscale atmosphere for guests to unwind, along with convenient access to various outdoor activities. And with only 139 rooms, the intimacy of this smaller, luxury property is sure to be a ‘wow!’
Finally, and by no means the least important, One & Only Moonlight Basin is set to welcome guests in November 2025. As the inaugural One & Only location in the United States, this resort will offer panoramic mountain views and upscale lodgings that integrate with the natural surroundings.

8. Maui
Support Economic Recovery
The fires that destroyed Lahaina in August 2023 broke the hearts of anyone who visited Front Street and the famous 150-year-old banyan tree. Now, Maui tourism is down 25%. Brightspot suggests sending President Club trips to Maui, along with their corporate tourism spending, for a win-win ESG initiative. Hawaii consistently ranks as the #1 motivational destination, and Maui frequently wins favorite island from Travel + Leisure. If you think, “Our group already went to Hawaii,” Brightspot recommends visiting a different Hawaiian island every 3 years for varied experiences. Each island is totally different.
The Wailea area (on the south side and away from Lahaina) offers 5-star luxury with the Four Seasons Resort, Fairmont Kea Lani, Grand Wailea, Marriott’s Wailea Beach Resort, and the Andaz Maui from the Hyatt brand family. Kapalua, on the north side, has a Ritz-Carlton and a Montage resort that offers 5-star luxury in a more secluded setting. In the middle (geographically and cost) is Kaanapali, with a strong selection of 4-star resorts that excel with groups – Hyatt, Westin, and Sheraton – along with walking distance shopping and restaurants at Whaler’s Village. Famous attractions include sunrise at Haleakala, biking down Haleakala (peddling only 20 times in an hour), the scenic road to Hana, and snorkeling at Molokini Crater. Oh, don’t forget to enjoy a Hula Pie.

9. African Safari
Big Five Bucket List
Looking for a true “trip of a lifetime”? African Safaris have long been on most “bucket lists” for good reason. Offering such a diverse variety of experiences within its 54 countries, there are clearly many ways to experience Africa.
The most familiar and reliable is the region of South Africa, building a split program between Cape Town and the nearby safari camps in Kruger National Park, one of the largest game reserves in Africa. We also recommend consideration of Zimbabwe which offers smaller, more intimate ultra-luxury camps such as Linkwasha paired with Victoria Falls, one of nature’s seven natural wonders of the world. When it comes to luxury accommodations, Victoria Falls has you covered with some fantastic options. Picture yourself at the elegant Victoria Falls Hotel, perched right by the falls, or the splendid Royal Livingstone on the Zambian side of the river.
Kenya and East Africa have gained quite a reputation for their top-notch lodgings and unforgettable camp experiences. And if you’re looking for a truly up-close and personal adventure, Uganda and Rwanda are the go-to destinations for immersive gorilla safaris. So, whether you’re mixing business with pleasure or simply seeking some well-deserved R&R, these destinations have got you covered!

10. Cusco
Machu Picchu and Beyond
Found at the top of most people’s bucket list destinations, Machu Picchu within the destination of Peru is sure to wow even your most well-traveled achievers. Though this wonder of the world offers an amazing experience for groups, it’s worth noting that you will need to be prepared to embrace some of the logistical challenges of maneuvering this country. Upon arriving in Cusco, your group has the option of transferring to a lower altitude in the Sacred Valley for an easier adjustment before heading up to Machu Picchu either by the Vistadome train or the luxury Hiram Bingham Belmond train. Though there are a few properties up on Machu Picchu, a day trip will be plenty of time for most travelers to see and fully experience the historic area before returning back down that evening to the Sacred Valley host hotel.
Within the Sacred Valley, the standout accommodation option is the Tambo Del Inka Hotel which offers quick access to many of the best cultural and historic activities in the destination. Consider a split between a few nights in Sacred Valley focusing on history and culture, before heading back up to Cusco for a couple of nights to enjoy the livelier Peruvian city life. Cusco has a special charm with key sites such as The Plaza de Armas and Cusco Cathedral, both UNESCO Heritage sites, and the lively San Pedro Market which allows travelers to be immersed in the local scene with an opportunity to experience authentic Peruvian cuisine firsthand. The Belmond Hotel Monasterio, Belmond Palacio Nazarenas, and Palacio del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel, are all excellent hotel accommodations for this area of the country.

11. Punta Mita
The New Kid on The Block
Watch out Los Cabos; Punta Mita is fighting for its spot as Mexico’s latest in luxury and exclusivity. Nestled about 40 miles northwest of Puerto Vallarta, this secluded area of the peninsula is booming with the addition of many 5-star hotels like Susurros del Corazón, an Auberge Resorts Collection, and Conrad Punta De Mita. Longtime favorites Four Seasons Punta Mita and St. Regis Punta Mita are still attracting the it-crowd, and don’t count out the Secrets & Dreams Bahia Mita Surf & Spa Resorts for all-inclusive groups.
Not only does Punta Mita have accommodations to fit the needs of your next group, but the unique name of Punta Mita gives the destination an exotic feel as it’s less recognized among leisure travelers. To offer groups unique activities outside of the resort, consider a trip to the local village Sayulita for a taste of the local culture, artisan markets, surfing lessons, and some of the best tacos ever tasted!

12. Costa Rica
Pura Vida Luxury
Costa Rica boasts an array of stunning properties catering to incentive groups seeking more than just a beach getaway. In the picturesque region of San Jose, Hacienda Alta Gracia, part of the prestigious Auberge Resorts Collection, welcomes small, high-end groups to experience the charm of what Conde Nast named the #1 Hotel in Central America in 2023. This luxurious retreat, along with the renowned Four Seasons Resort, exemplifies the country’s growing portfolio of premium accommodations. Waldorf Astoria Punta Cacique recently opened in May 2025, further elevating Costa Rica’s appeal as a luxury destination.
Though San Jose’s inventory is growing, the true allure for incentive travel lies 130 miles northwest in Guanacaste province. Here, the Papagayo Peninsula hosts two of the finest resorts in the country: the Four Seasons Resort and the Andaz Costa Rica, which is undergoing renovations this Fall. These properties capture the essence of Costa Rica with exceptional dining, breathtaking landscapes, and the occasional visit from playful monkeys on your balcony. Guests at these resorts can immerse themselves in an array of experiences, from beach and water activities to thrilling zipline and jungle tours, and even culinary adventures that rival those in San Jose.
Just 30 minutes south of Papagayo, Playa Conchal offers the All Inclusive Westin Reserva Conchal and the modern W Costa Rica, both perfect for hosting unforgettable incentive trips. Further south, the JW Marriott exudes charm with its authentic casita feel, offering a personalized All-Inclusive experience tailored to your needs.

13. Anguilla
Secluded Island Luxury
The current hot spot in the West Indies is undeniably the secluded island of Anguilla. Compared to many other Caribbean islands that host the masses, incentive groups will find something a little more authentic in Anguilla. What they won’t find are large cruise ship crowds, casinos, or high-rise hotels. Those are replaced by a surplus of clear, coral-filled waters, unpaved roads, and beachfront villa accommodations. The 5-star resorts offer varied experiences from Caribbean authenticity to modern luxury and have earned every star including Four Seasons Resort Anguilla, Belmond Cap Juluca, Malliouhana Resort, and Aurora Resort & Golf Club.
Relaxation is the name of the game in Anguilla where your guests can experience many of the top-rated beaches in the world. Water activities are a must, and if you are looking to offer WOW, water transfer your guests to the private oasis of Sandy Island for an exclusive beach day they won’t soon forget.
Other West Indies options include the gorgeous Carlisle Bay in Antigua; with its all ocean-front rooms and 5-star experience, this has always been a strong contender amongst incentive travel destinations. Many St. Kitts & Nevis properties have all undergone recent renovations, and several recent programs to Four Seasons Nevis can attest to their commitment to the highest standard of quality. Park Hyatt St. Kitts is another excellent luxury option full of Caribbean charm.

14. Thailand
From Bangkok Buzz to Phuket Peace
Second-tier destinations offer great value and greater ‘podium power’ the moment it’s announced as next year’s destination! Usually ‘off the beaten path’ and someplace even well-traveled salespeople haven’t explored yet where there is delight and surprise at every turn. Dubrovnik, Croatia sits atop that list Thailand has quickly become a favorite destination on many travelers’ “must-go” lists, thanks to its striking landscapes, bustling cities, rich cultural heritage, and warm hospitality. Thailand is an ideal choice for those looking for the perfect mix of cultural exploration and luxurious relaxation. A well-planned incentive travel program can easily combine the dynamic energy of Bangkok with the serene beauty of Phuket’s beaches.
Participants can dive into Bangkok’s vibrant culture, exploring historic sites like Wat Pho, enjoying culinary adventures through cooking classes and street food tours, and taking advantage of the city’s shopping and nightlife. Staying at luxury hotels like the Mandarin Oriental and Rosewood Bangkok ensures a top-notch experience. The Mandarin Oriental has historic charm, riverside villas, and Michelin-starred dining, while Rosewood Bangkok stands out with its modern design, exceptional service, and stunning city views.
In Phuket, attendees can relax on stunning beaches and explore local cultural landmarks. Resorts like Six Senses Yao Noi, Amanpuri, and The Slate offer luxurious accommodations with a focus on wellness and relaxation. Six Senses Yao Noi is known for its eco-friendly, private pool villas, and Amanpuri offers serene beachfront villas with personalized service. The Slate’s unique design inspired by Phuket’s tin-mining history, combines industrial chic with lush surroundings, providing a distinctive experience that blends luxury with artistic flair.

15. Prague
Preserved Old-World Culture
Nicknamed the city of a hundred spires, Prague tops the list as one of the most unique cities in the world. The capital city of the Czech Republic offers your attendees one of the best-preserved countries on the planet. During World War II, Prague wasn’t as affected by bombings as many other European cities, as planes didn’t have the range to reach Prague. What’s left today are the gothic and medieval influences that make Prague a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
On the older side of the famous Charles Bridge is the Mandarin Oriental, a luxury hotel steeped in history. Today, it’s a modern retreat built on a 14th-century monastery, offering sweeping city views, spacious rooms, and a luxury spa. On the “younger” side of the Charles Bridge, Four Seasons Hotel Prague interweaves centuries of remarkable history with elegant accommodations, fine dining, and more in the middle of Old Town Square – not to mention the view of Prague Castle. The latest gem, Fairmont Golden Prague Hotel, opened at the end of July 2025, and is sure to make its mark on incentive travel.
The magic of Prague can be experienced on foot, by vintage car, boat, helicopter, or bike. The city’s culture is vibrant, emphasized by music and the arts – offering something for everyone. Minutes away from the city center, groups can experience a private evening fit for royalty at the Lobkowicz Palace. Prince Lobkowicz provides a personalized welcome experience, including a tour of the family’s private art collection.

16. Switzerland
Small Footprint, Endless Opportunities
A popular destination on everyone’s bucket list! Switzerland is a diversified country with so much to offer in a small footprint: from its majestic mountains and incredible villages of Zermatt, Gstaad, and Bürgenstock, to the scenic lake regions in Geneva, Lausanne, Montreux, or Lugano, or the bustling cities of Zurich and Bern – there’s truly a destination fit for any type of incentive. No matter which region you choose, they each offer visitors a variety of hotel options, including the ultra-luxury Bürgenstock Resort, Fairmont Le Montreux Palace, or Grand Hotel Zermatterhof.
Your group will have no shortage of activities and experiences from a visit to the Olympic Museum in Lausanne to the wine region recognized by UNESCO as the Vineyard Terraces in Lavaux, or a visit to the Freddie Mercury statue on the shores of Montreux, or the Luzern Chapel Bridge. There are countless options for your incentive travel programs – but one thing is for sure: everyone will be surprised and delighted at every turn of their Swiss adventure. Still not convinced to give Switzerland a try? Our incentive experts have shared their Swiss learnings in our blogs: from the array of destinations to choose from to the adventurer’s paradise of Zermatt.

17. Portugal
Good Value for Your Euro
Portugal deserves all the attention it is getting as a top destination for its unique culture, infrastructure, and top-notch properties throughout the land. If you haven’t been, it deserves a spot on your updated bucket list! Fly into Porto and discover the northern region around the old merchant route along the Douro River—a wine region worth exploring! Recent incentive trips to Portugal focused on Lisbon, Cascais, and Sintra; attendees considered it one of their all-time favorites! Take your group on a historical tour to Penha Palace in the Sintra Mountains, or bike the Cascais (pronounced Kash-Ki-sssh) coastline, which also offers a string of charming wineries. Day trips into the bustling city of Lisbon, or north to the medieval city of Obidos provide countless ways to “wow” participants.
The Penha Longa Resort (a Ritz-Carlton) is built on the site of a former monastery and offers a wonderful mix of culture and 5-star elegance away from the hustle of the city, or consider the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon as a home base close to the Lisbon city center. You can see a full program guide for Portugal in our blog post outlining this bucket list trip, complete with event ideas and activities.

18. Ireland
Castles & Green Countryside
The West of Ireland is framed by a rugged coastline and peppered with peninsulas, ports, pubs, and people (how about that alliteration?). The countryside is home to some of Ireland’s finest evening entertainment and folk sessions, and it plays a little more authentic than the more tourist-friendly Dublin.
Shannon Airport offers a convenient way in, and you’ll be greeted with spectacular countryside hotels, such as Adare Manor, voted the #1 resort in Europe by the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. Other castle hotels to impress the most well-traveled groups include Ashford Castle and Dromoland Castle, or if holding court in a castle isn’t really your style, we recommend Powerscourt, or the Carton House, a Fairmont-managed Hotel located in the countryside just outside of Dublin or the gorgeous Europe Hotel and Resort down in Killarney overlooking the shores of lake Lough Léin for a picturesque and unforgettable experience for your group.
Travel trivia: What is the difference between a castle and a manor? A castle is a fort for fighting, and a manor is for country living!

19. Sicily
A Hidden Gem
Sicily is a treasure trove of history, culture, and natural beauty, shaped by the influences of the Greeks, Romans, Arabs, and French over millennia. The island is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, the Baroque buildings of Val di Noto, and the Arab-Norman route connecting Palermo, Monreale, and Cefalù. Visitors can explore ancient cities like Syracuse, marvel at the mosaics of Villa Romana del Casale, or witness the awe-inspiring eruptions of Mount Etna. The Aeolian Islands, a geological wonder, add to Sicily’s rich and diverse landscape.
For incentive travel programs, Sicily offers exceptional luxury properties. The San Domenico Palace, a Four Seasons Hotel overlooking the Ionian Sea, was a former 14th-century convent and served as the iconic backdrop for HBO’s The White Lotus. The Rocco Forte Verdura Resort on the South Coast boasts 230 hectares of Mediterranean coastline, spa, and golf. Other gems include the Mazzarò Sea Palace in the Bay of Taormina, and Belmond’s Villa Sant’Andrea and Grand Hotel Timeo, offering timeless elegance for smaller programs and discerning travelers.

20. Playa Mujeres
Beyond Cancun: Unique Luxury and New Adventures
We are all familiar with the affordability and accessibility of Cancun as a destination, but for those looking for something a little more unique while still offering some of the benefits of the Cancun infrastructure, one could head 30 minutes north to the quickly expanding Playa Mujeres area. Here, Secrets Playa Blanca makes a splash in putting this destination on the map along with the existing powerhouse that is Atelier Playa Mujeres. In fact, Marriott also announced their plans to open an all-inclusive take on some familiar brands with the JW Marriott and W Costa Mujeres set to open in early 2026, bolstering more confidence that this area will continue to grow. These two properties will sit side by side with the JW Marriott being the family-friendly resort option and the W being geared towards adults-only. Add in the growth within Isla Mujeres, just a gorgeous 20-minute boat ride from the area, with properties like the Secrets Impression Isla Mujeres, Marriott’s Luxury Collection Almare Isla Mujeres, or just a day trip to experience the unique island itself, and it’s easy to see how this area can offer attendees something out of the ordinary from what they may have experienced on a past Cancun incentive trip.

Notre Dame Events: Restoring and Reopening the Iconic Cathedral
A New Notre-Dame
When the Notre Dame Cathedral erupted in a catastrophic fire on 15th April 2019, the whole world feared the damage and future of one of the most beloved heritage monuments on the planet. The damage of the fire left the cathedral without a roof and spire and with a major blitz of the interior. After the fire, the Établissement Public, the public agency in charge of managing the restoration, was left to tackle one of the biggest restorations the city has ever seen.
Following the devastating fire, the Cathedral has emerged not just rebuilt but fully restored in its first comprehensive renovation since 1850, enhancing its potential as a breathtaking backdrop for high-profile events. The chapels’ murals now radiate vibrant color, having been meticulously cleaned of centuries-old grime and the fire’s smoke and ash. Lighting, a key feature in creating atmosphere, has been fully revived: 14 grand chandeliers and numerous wall sconces, original 19th-century designs by Viollet-le-Duc, were restored by master craftsmen at Mathieu Lustrerie in Vaucluse. Once dulled and damaged, including two fixtures lost during the blaze, these luminous centerpieces now illuminate the space with their original brilliance, elevating the ambience for gatherings of distinction.
The Venue
-
70,163 m² of modular space across four levels
-
Up to 5,200-seat plenary hall, multiple exhibition halls, meeting and conference rooms, and a eco rooftop terrace with skyline views
-
Boasting natural light through its glass roof yet can be darkened instantly for presentations or screenings
-
Suitable for MICE events including incentives, team building, conferences, product launches, galas, and meetings
