Cape Town: The Cape Town International Convention Centre
The CTICC was established in 1999 as the Cape Town International Convention Company, with the primary objective of forming a world-class international convention centre in Cape Town.
The CTICC officially opened its doors in June 2003. It was developed through a partnership between the City of Cape Town and the Western Cape provincial government. Strategically situated near the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and integrated with major infrastructure and hotels, including the Westin, it’s an ideal hub for global MICE events.

Recognition for MICE events
Over the years, CTICC has hosted multiple MICE events ranging from international congresses to meetings and events and has solidified its position as Africa’s premium conference venue. The CTICC has delivered huge economic impact through high-profile events, such as the 2010 FIFA World Cup draw and the 2023 Netball World Cup.
In 2024, Cape Town ranked 35th globally for international association meetings, with CTICC hosting nearly 60% of South Africa’s total MICE events.
